Thoughts on Creating a Web Calendar

We would like to be able to use some of the information from our Facilities Scheduler to populate a calendar that could be posted on our parish website. THe hitch is that we do not want ALL OF THE INFORMATION entered on the scheduled to be posted on the website. For example, we want the main events to show up (like the Christians in Commerce Meeting) but do not want the setup and teardown times to be posted. So, we thik it would be wonderful to have the ability through the software to code events designated to appear on the public web calendar. This way we would not have to enter events twice. Also, when changes and updates are made, it would be much easier to upload. This would be so useful and we hope it is something that could be considered. Thanks so much! Hi Vickie. Welcome to the group.

This can be done with both version 5 and 6 of the facility scheduler. Create a new calendar for "Publish to Website" (in v6 Setup/Admin. > Setup Options > Event Calendars.

Tag the events you want to appear online with the "Publish to Website" calendar.

When you run the web calendar report - don't select the option to print all calendars, but rather only the new "Publish to Web" calendar.

The support department can help you get this setup if you need help.

Ok, thanks. But, will this just give us an HTML list? Or something that is "web friendly" like Calendar Wiz?

THANKS SO MUCH,
Vickie

Give it a try. You can create the file locally without it going live to your server. Just choose the View File button when it is finished.
