Could we have a financial report that shows how many families are giving using their envelopes and how many are giving electronically, in the same report run.  This should also come along with percentages of each and a pie chart.

I mark our electronic givers with a family keyword. I then run contribution exports so that I can present the data in whatever way I choose.

This is a great idea...almost like a dashboard item that you would see in some of the newer databases.  We currently use a combination of the activity field and check field to show that someone is giving electronically.  For our plate fund, I've built the activity of Electronic Giving (I also have some other activities like loose check and Bill pay.)  I also use the check number field to account for the way that they give electronically since we have 4 options (Online, kiosk, ACH and EFT...yes, I still have some families that refuse to switch to our new (5yrs old) online system.)
This just helps us analyze how people give since I can then pull reports based on activity or the check number field.

This is a great Idea! I have helped many churches create reports to show online givers and envelope users. These are not difficult to create but it would be better to be able to have the program tell what type of giver the families are. In the Family Recap Screen it would be nice to include this kind of information. For example: How does the family give; how often they give; average of giving; their latest payment amount and date; and for the members are they active in ministries. This type of information would help tremendously when cleaning up data and for stewardship purposes.
