For the future version of Facility Scheduler.
It would be beneficial to us and I'm sure other parishes to have the following features.

1. Have the ability for an Admin to use Event Processes while View Only (users that log into SHD with only view only rights) Users are logged into the program..

2. Have the capability to publish real time event changes to our Parish website whenever an event change it automatically reflex on our site that it's linked with.

Thanks,

Randy

The real time update to the web calendar would be outstanding!

Paul,

Re: #1: I'm sure you realize how ridiculous it is to have a system where users can't view the calendar because one other person is updating a singe, unrelated event???

Randy, yeah that sounds bad. However that isn't the nature of this request. The request involves changing the system so that a bulk change potentially affecting all events can run without requiring exclusive access to the database.

You can certainly edit single individual events today while other users are in the program. The individual record locking is very similar to Church Office. Many users can be in the program - even viewing the same record. The first user that tries to edit a specific event can change it. Others may continue to view but no other edits are allowed until the first edit is saved. Making this type of change doesn't prevent other users from launching the program, viewing calendars or running any type of report.

Our assumption is that Alter Existing Schedule, Combine Event Name, and Delete Events aren't typically used daily. Maybe this assumption is wrong. Can you tell us how you use these features?
