Event Packages or Event Groups

I have never used the Event Packages feature, because so far as I can tell none of what it offers ever pertains to our facility.  And 2 because I just don't know how, have tried to play with it a bit and could never figure out how to make it work right.  Anyway, I would like to make a suggestion for something that I  would find very useful with respect to grouping facilities and grouping day/times.

We have so many ministries at our parish that we do have to schedule pulpit talks in the Facility Scheduler so we can keep track of which group is speaking on which weekend so that parishioners aren't sitting through an extra hour of announcements each week. This "Pulpit Talk" is typically scheduled as a regular event lasting all day from 6:30am - 6:30pm in the Church on Sunday as well as the vigil Masses the night before from 4:30pm - 6:30pm.  So the event is done over 2 days, and it does conflict with all the Masses that day, but we just ignore conflict.

When a group does do a pulpit talk, they also typically have a table or 2 outside the doors of the church so parishioners can get more info before or after each service.  These table spaces are also scheduled in Facility Scheduler so we can keep track of them using the facility named "Outside:Church", using the same 2 days and times.

Additionally, oftentimes the group also needs a separate room to sort and store items for a collection, again using the same 2 days and times, most often using the facility "Hall Conf"

It would be nice if we could group all of these together somehow, as these events seem to be coming up more and more frequently.  Is this something that can be done using the Event Package feature? or is there an easier way to do this than scheduling each one separately?

Thank you!

We have a similar situation.  I created a Facility called "Pulpit Talk".  I also have a Facility called "Tables".  You could group these facilities together.

Adriene, thank you so much for you input. In this type of Scenario you would not need to use the Event Packages but instead create a new facility in your system. You could name that facility any useful name for yourself. Then click on the SubGroups option along the left hand side. In SubGroups add all of the rooms you would like this Group Facility to impact. Then when you use this new Facility to schedule events it will automatically use all the rooms listed under SubGroups. Thank you again for taking the time to post your suggestions and questions.
