Event Import

I would like the ability to import events from a spreadsheet or CSV. We do our calendaring annually and each group (Faith Formation, Music, Knights of Columbus, etc...) fill out a spreadsheet with their information. I would love to be able to just import this into Facility Scheduler and then manually deal with the conflicts instead of entering every single event manually (the schedule based on past history isn't very helpful to me).

I am commenting not on Mary's idea/need to import but rather her parish ministry practice of completing a spreadsheet for scheduling. Mary, might you possibly consider sending me your spreadsheet, or a page of it, so I can get and idea of the process. Also, a ballpark how many events you have annually and # of ministries. We do things very differently but I'd like to see how the spreadsheet works for you. ccampbell@stpatcc.org   https://stpatcc.org/

Being able to import a spreadsheet is a great idea!  it would be nice if PDS would allow this, and maybe just put all the import events in as "pending" or something until they are checked for conflicts and verified manually.  It would save a lot of tedious typing!

We use a spreadsheet as well, and you are welcome to see mine!  I schedule for thousands of events annually for 50+ ministries/activity groups, 80+ facilities/facility groups.

I made this form (Excel spreadsheet) required this year for anyone who wanted to schedule their annual events - it is just easier for me to have it all in one format than trying to decipher each group's different planning systems. (same placement of columns, and formats for date, time, facility name, etc.)

You are welcome to download from Google Drive:

I hope it helps!
