Be able to Schedule simple overnight events Not longer than 24 hours

Problem: When scheduling a 14-hour overnight event, I chose to use the Schedule Simple Events process as the event was not over 24 hours. However, when entering the End Time of the event, I received an Error message of, "This event would begin after it ends.", and the only option I was given was to hit the OK button which I hit over 20 times. I was not allowed to get back to my event to tweak the times or to Cancel the event and try to schedule it through the Schedule Events Longer Than 24 Hours process. Instead I had to exit through the Task Manager.

Support: I have spoken with a Support technician who "walked with me" as I replicated what happened and he prompted me to make an Enhancement Request.

Solution: It would be great if a person could EITHER in the Schedule Simple Events process be able to Cancel the Error message so that the event can be tweaked or the event be canceled completely OR the verbiage of Schedule Events Longer Than 24 Hours be reworded to include Overnight Events.

Background Information: These Overnight Events occur rather frequently here at St. Brigid, beginning as early as four or five in the afternoon and ending as late as 12noon the next day, thus hardly ever making it to the 24-hour mark. I used to be able to exit out of the Error message and tweak the event end times, so that I could schedule the event. Then, I would go to Events and change the ending day and end time so that the event would show on calendars and reports appropriately. However, after the latest Upgrade or Update, the program will not allow me to Cancel the event or Exit the program. The only thing that can be done is to exit out through the Task Manager. This is time-consuming and either more options in the Schedule Simple Events process or better, clearer verbiage in the Schedule Events Longer Than 24 Hours would help to make time and scheduling more efficient. Thank you.

Putting in overnight times certainly shouldn't lock up the program. Thank you very much for reporting that problem. It will be corrected in the next release.

The Simple Scheduling process is limited to scheduling an event that starts and ends on the same date. This is a limitation because of conflict checking. We will change the message that is displayed to try to make it clearer why this is not allowed in that process, and to suggest the use of the correct process. We will also change the Scheduling Menu so that it is clearer how to schedule Overnight events.

I appreciate your insight. It never occurred to me that churches would schedule events during the night. Thank you for helping me understand how that is a valid thing to do. And thank you for your suggestions.
