I would like to see an option to either "kick out" or notify other users in the program (from the "List of users currently in program" screen) when I need them to Log out so I can perform a backup or some other process that requires only one user in the program. We have an office of about 15 people so this feature would be really good to have when everyone is using the program at once.

I like it! Beats waiting until everyone goes home, which is what I do now. Thanks.

Exactly! Several of them forget to log-out when they leave for the day, then lock their office up and i can't back up. Or in the middle of the day and I am trying to fix something I have to run around the office telling everyone to log off.

If this is possible, I think this would be a nice feature for the PDS Administrator to have.

Another option might be if you have network management software. Our system has a feature that the network administrator can use to pop up a message dialog on all systems. However, the PDS Administrator might not always be the network administrator...

"Lock Out Other Users" option for Security Admins.

Would it be possible to add a "lock out other users" function for Security Admins in PDS products? This could be useful if an administrator needs to perform database maintenance for a time.

Ability to Contact other Users in a Program through an Internal IM Function.

Would it be possible to set up an IM function for networked users? This would be helpful in allowing users to contact others who are in the program. Could be particularly useful when needing to have others exit the program to run a backup, fix, etc.

Messaging within the program.

I would like a way to message other users in the program so I can send them a message to get them to log out when I need to a backup or something like that.

Our IT Consultant uses systems management software from Kaseya to monitor and manage our network. I am an assistant systems manager and can use the features available, one of which is a tool that allows me to send pop up screen messages to one or some or all of the users (provided they are at their computers and paying attention).

What I do is log on to the management system, select the option to send a message to users, type the message, select who will receive it and when, and send the message.

Let me know if you'd like to see it in action--I could show you through a Connect with Support session.

I think there are other network tools out there that allow pop up messaging. One I saw is Screen Pop Up, a free download from Softpedia, but I'm not sure how easy it is to install and implement and whether there are any security issues to work around.

This would be a nice feature to have available.

Thanks,
Lorraine
